For a Tear Fell
“Mommy, why is she crying?”
“She seems afraid, darling”, the woman responded, becoming aware of the gathering crowd.
The tears streaked the dirt caked face of the young woman.
“Daddy, why is she crying?” “What has she done?”
“She has been very bad, son.”
“Daddy, can we help her?”
“No, see someone has come to help her”, the dad said pointing toward the man standing beside her.
The tears helped to wash away the dust of the street.
“Sarah, why is that woman crying?”
“Because, she is happy, Amos.” “See the new teacher has come to help her.”
“He has got her on her feet and chased away those mean men.”
The tears now served to accent her joy.
“Get up.” “They will not harm you now.” “Why are you still crying?”
“I am overwhelmed with your kindness”.
“Teacher, what did I do to deserve your help?”
“Nothing.”
“But teacher what can I do to repay this kindness.”
“Go forth and sin no more.”
